Can Meridian Rd. north of Bannerman handle the traffic of thousands of new homes?

The City is proposing annexing into the city 1500 acres of rural land surrounding Lake Jackson on the west side of North Meridian Rd.

The push to redevelop this land was struck down last year by the County Commission because of its potential to degrade Lake Jackson and add tens of thousands of homes and millions of square feet of commercial property to the corridor.

Annexation is the first step. If you don’t want to see this intense development come to Meridian Rd. now is the time to speak up.
